About the Project

Climate change is driving extreme weather and rising global temperatures, prompting the EU to commit to climate neutrality by 2050. While large-scale changes are vital, everyday sustainable actions—like repairing instead of replacing, recycling, composting, and buying second-hand—also play a crucial role. These habits, known as circular behaviours, are key to building a circular economy and must be nurtured from a young age. The ACCESS project supports elementary school educators in embedding these values into early education by equipping them with practical, engaging tools that raise awareness and inspire meaningful action among students. By introducing sustainability concepts through age-appropriate content, the project aims to empower the next generation to take part in the green transition.

Project Outputs

ACCESS offers a range of innovative resources to help teachers integrate circular economy principles into their classrooms. A core feature is an interactive student platform, where children can explore sustainability topics and earn microcertification badges, guided by a clear teacher implementation manual. The project also delivers a digital library of more than 180 flexible microlessons, packed with customisable activities and templates designed to meet the needs of young learners. In addition, the Circular Behaviour Teaching Toolkit provides comprehensive guidance to help teachers foster everyday sustainable habits in their students. All resources are designed for use in both formal and informal learning environments, ensuring wide applicability and lasting impact.
