2020 – 2022 | Erasmus+ KA220 project | 2019-3-AT02-KA205-002544
The CLAY project aimed to raise awareness and motivate young people aged 16 to 25 to embrace a circular economy vision. By encouraging sustainable behaviours, the project sought to reduce environmental pressures, improve the security of raw material supplies, boost competitiveness and innovation, and create new job opportunities. CLAY encouraged youth to actively participate in circular economy initiatives through accessible and engaging learning resources.
CLAY’s key deliverables include an Open Educational Resources (OER) platform that raises awareness about circular economy topics while enabling collaboration among young learners. Complementary training materials were developed to support individual or blended learning, designed for both learners and educators. The project also created an Index to measure young people’s attitudes and behaviours regarding circular economy, supported by a methodological handbook to enhance key competences and skills. The training curriculum consists of five modules with 18 units and quizzes, covering the fundamentals of circular economy, its design, strategies, and relevant global initiatives. The OER platform provides easy access to these materials, with options to download for offline use.
All the materials created within this project are available to the public for free.
This handbook outlines the pedagogical foundations of the CLAY project, offering guidance on how to integrate creative, clay-based activities into youth education. It provides educators with a structured approach to fostering creativity, self-expression, and community engagement.
