About the Project
The RuralYouth project established a series of educational tools designed for tourism students and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in rural tourism across the EU. By developing innovative training programmes and supportive materials such as Investpedia and Ruralpedia, the project equiped young learners with the skills needed to create sustainable businesses in agro-tourism. It promoted rural entrepreneurship and raised awareness of business opportunities, while fostering cooperation among European stakeholders. The project’s flexible, open e-learning approach ensures equal access to knowledge and practical guidance in rural tourism and entrepreneurship.
Project Outputs
The RuralYouth project produced a set of foundational resources to support rural entrepreneurship and tourism development. Ruralpedia is an encyclopedia of rural concepts and terminology. Investpedia outlines key strategies and tools for rural investment. The Best Practice Handbook showcases successful rural entrepreneurship case studies. The Rural Tourism Entrepreneurship Training Programme is a modular course delivered via an online platform. It covers key topics such as tourism awareness, rural architecture, landscape planning, business models, marketing, and cross-sector collaboration, equipping young people with the knowledge and skills to launch and grow sustainable rural tourism initiatives.
