What is this programme about?

Creative methods for teaching sustainability.

This 5-day programme is designed to help teachers bring sustainability topics to life through creative and interactive teaching methods. Rather than relying on lectures or textbooks, participants will explore storytelling, visual design, role play, experiments, and project-based learning as ways to engage students with circular economy and environmental themes.

The course focuses on turning complex or abstract ideas into memorable learning experiences. Teachers will practise using digital tools and hands-on activities to design lessons that are fun, inspiring, and easy to adapt to different age groups and classroom contexts.

Who is the programme for?

This training is designed for primary, secondary, and VET teachers who want to:

  • Explore creative approaches that make sustainability accessible and enjoyable for students
  • Experiment with digital storytelling, visual tools, and interactive activities
  • Integrate project-based learning and student creativity into their teaching
  • Refresh their teaching practice with new strategies for motivation and engagement
What will you learn from this programme?

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Use storytelling and narratives to explain sustainability concepts in a child-friendly way
  • Apply visual tools (infographics, posters, animations) to make learning more engaging
  • Incorporate role play and simulation to help students explore different perspectives
  • Design hands-on experiments and projects that link theory with practice
  • Use digital tools like Canva, Genially, or Doodly to create interactive learning resources
  • Foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration in sustainability-related lessons
Why is this programme valuable?

The programme will give teachers the skills to use creative classroom methods to capture students’ attention and sustain their interest. Upon completion of the programme, teachers will leave with a collection of activities they can use immediately, and which allow them to integrate traditional teaching with digital tools and creative techniques. Finally, the course help teachers to empower learners to actively create, question, and experiment instead of passively receiving information.
