Project Bio

The project RURALYOUTH forms a lifelong education system for tourism students who would like to be entrepreneurs in rural tourism in EU.

During the project, the RURALYOUTH team developed several tools helping young entrepreneurs upgrade their skills in rural tourism and creating a healthy way of acquiring a new profession and qualifications.

Within the project, young student and tourism entrepreneurs have been trained in the newly designed training program with the help of several additional materials, such as investpedia and ruralpedia. The training program improve their knowledge in agro-tourism through an alternative and innovative way of learning.

The set of the project outputs represent a useful tool to guide young tourism students in sustainable business development in agro-tourism and related activities.

More specifically, the results of the RURALYOUTH project contribute to:

- promotion of rural tourism among youth;

- promotion of  entrepreneurship in rural tourism;

- identification of business opportunities based on successful examples of entrepreneurship in rural tourism;

- increase of education level in rural tourism;

- provision of a unique e-learning platform for tourism students and entrepreneurs;

- raising awareness about entrepreneurial opportunities in rural tourism;

- creation of strong cooperation within the EU.

The main outcome of the project is the creation of equal opportunities in flexible learning, open learning and e-learning for young people in the field of rural tourism and entrepreneurship in rural tourism.

Eskisehir Metropolitan Municipality, TurkeyThe consortium members were selected from institutions that are active in rural areas, able to create educational content and perform technology-based initiatives.

Output 1: Rural Entreprenuership and Tourism Guide Book

This handbook will help candidates of rural entrepreneurship to produce their rural and touristic products in environmental–friendly way and in a sustainable way.

Output 2: Rural Tourism Entreprenuership Training Programme-

The training programme provides practical contents to the users with the necessary tools in order to apply their own creative ideas to rural tourism destinations.

Output 3: RURALYOUTH E-Learning Platform

The platform allows training in an e-learning format, providing access and knowledge of all content, modules and training resources. Through an interactive, dynamic and digital approach, trainees have access to all training and guidance contents and materials.

All project outputs will be available as an open source in December 2022.
